Investigators believe a vehicle believed to have struck the woman did not remain in place and may have been damaged as a result of the collision. Police did not provide a description of the vehicle in question, but said officers want to speak to any drivers and witnesses involved in the incident.

“We understand that this incident will be upsetting to those who witnessed it, and we want to ensure that the witnesses and those affected by this event are connected with support,” CPS said in a news release Wednesday.
