The Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica will make an appearance

The Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica — globally unveiled in April this year — will be launched in India on August 25. The Huracan Tecnica sits between the standard Huracan Evo and the STO track version, both of which are already on sale in the Indian market

The Huracan Tecnica is coming to India just five months after its global launch, a remarkable feat for such a high-end supercar. In fact, Lamborghini confirms that they have already received orders from customers.

The automaker has been enjoying success in India of late, having recently delivered the 200th Urus. Sharad Agarwal, head of Lamborghini India, says, “The Urus has boosted sales of the company’s super sports cars, which may explain the rapid interest in the Tecnica.”

Mechanical underpinnings are the same as the STO — a 640-hp, naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 sending power to the rear wheels only through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. However, it misses out on the wild aero package and weight-saving mode of the stiffer STO.

Instead, the Huracan Tecnica takes its design inspiration from the Sian hybrid hypercar, which in turn is based on the Aventador. The front and rear have similar angular bodywork to the Sian; it has a more prominent diffuser at the rear compared to the Evo and also features a fixed rear spoiler.

It gets rear-wheel steering and carbon-ceramic brakes as standard, with a carbon fiber front cover. As for outright performance, 0-100km/h is dispatched in a claimed 3.2 seconds, 200km/h comes in 9.1 seconds and it has a top speed of 325km/h.

As a direct rival to the Porsche 911 GT3, Lamborghini says driver involvement is the most important element of the Tecnica’s character, with truly approachable borderline handling a priority.

Price-wise, the Huracan Tecnica will be positioned below the Huracan STO, which was launched in India at ₹4.99 crore (ex-showroom) earlier this year.
